Jessica Brunelli - First 15 Year Old to Win Pole in USAC Ford Focus Midget
For round two of the California Pavement Ford Focus Midget Series, Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle headed to Irwindale Speedway with its four drivers. After coming off a strong top ten result in the opening round of the series Jessica was looking forward to improving at the next event.
Surprising everyone in the paddock Jessica threw down a blistering lap to qualify pole in the sixteen-car field becoming the first fifteen year old to win pole position in the series. She also lead the team in their sweep of the top four positions, which was only the second time the team has done so. In the race Jessica would fight a very loose car and fell to sixth, but still a great showing in only her second start in the series.
“Getting a pole in her second race is impressive, that was no fluke,” commented Ron Sutton. “Jessica Brunelli is the real deal and she is going to be at the front in everything she races. Just watch.”
The next event will be held at the Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway April 12. To keep up to date with Jessica’s racing throughout the 2008 visit www.brunelliracing.com.
