Daniel Adler Wins two Straight

Adler Ends 2007 Season on Top
Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle development driver, Daniel Adler has been on a roll towards the end of the 2007 season scoring back-to-back victories. The 19 year-old driver competed in over twenty five events throughout the season continuing to improve and grow as a driver.

The first victory took place at the I-10 Lucas Oil Speedway. During the Friday night practice session, Daniel along his crew chief, Randy Chastain, were able to get the #8 RSWC Ford Focus Midget quick right away.

Following up his strong showing in practice, Daniel crushed the rest of the field by over a tenth of a second between him and second, winning his first pole of the season. Daniel started the feature in the sixth starting position. At the drop of the green flag, Daniel settled into sixth but would not stay there for long. On lap twenty-two the red flag flew for a crash. Under the red flag Daniel’s crew came out to adjust on the car for the eight-lap shootout to the win.

“They told me you’re smoking your right rear tire all the way around the track and we don’t know how much longer it’s going to last.”

That did not faze Daniel though. On the restart Daniel got an excellent run off turn two and made his move going into turn three passing the second place car followed by teammate Ian Miille for the lead in the same turn and never looked back. Daniel crossed the checkers in first place pumping his fist in the air crossing the line.

Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu City, AZ was home to the second victory of the season. After coming off his first USAC Ford Focus midget feature victory, Daniel was ready to get back to the track to try and repeat. In qualifying Daniel came away with the fourth fastest time, good enough to put him in the trophy dash. Daniel started on the pole in the trophy dash and jumped out to the early lead, but bobbled going into turn one and finished the race in second. Needing a top five finish in the heat race in order to get his time back from qualifying, Daniel had the pressure on him starting in the sixth position. It did not take long for Daniel to work his way to the front and settle in for a third place finish.

RSWC teammate Mark Atkinson had the pole for the feature and on the start he took off with Daniel hot on his tire tracks. Daniel pressured Mark early on, but could not get the job done and Daniel was eventually passed and fell to third. On lap 28 the caution came, which closed up the gap between Daniel and the leaders. Daniel made the needed adjustments to his RSWC Ford Focus midget and prepared for the restart. As the green flag waved for the final two laps, Daniel charged into turn one making the pass for second position. On the white flag lap Daniel made the pass for lead on his teammate
and went on to his second career USAC Ford Focus midget victory in just two races.

“This was the best way possible to end the year,” commented Adler. “Each race the team and I got closer and closer to getting my first career victory and to finally do it and follow it up with my second the next race is just amazing.” I am really looking forward to continuing working with Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle and moving up the ranks in 2008.”

Crew Chief Randy Chastain commented, "Daniel has really come into his own at the end of the season. I'm excited for him to have this success he deserves."
