2011/9/5 17:10

12 YEAR OLD TREVOR HUNT WINS A PAIR OF USAC YOUNG GUNS MIDGET TITLES

huntframe4.jpgKANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (October 20, 2011) – Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle driver Trevor Hunt, age 12 of Kansas City, MO, finished a very productive rookie campaign in the USAC Ford Focus Young Guns Midgets by winning both the USAC Western Pavement and USAC NorCal championships for the division.

With the championships, Hunt becomes one of the youngest USAC Young Gun champions in series history and he also finished second in the USAC Western Young Guns standings by just six points.

huntmedium2.jpgHunt drove the RSWC-prepared FVP #11 on pavement and the Wally Pankratz Racing #8 on dirt.  The 2011 season has been Hunt’s first on pavement after racing throughout the Midwest in Micros on dirt.  Hunt became acclimated to the pavement quickly, scoring his first quick-time in his second race and first feature in only his fourth pavement start.

Hunt has clicked off seven feature wins in the USAC Ford Focus Young Guns with two coming on dirt.  He also qualified on pole six times throughout the season.  In addition to his USAC success, he has also won twice in limited Micro Sprints starts this year.  Hunt has been the driver to beat at the series’ fastest track, Las Vegas Bullring, with three feature wins there this year.

The talented young driver came to Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle in late 2010 and participated in the on-track Shoot-Out with impressive lap times.  Coming into 2011, Hunt had already accomplished 152 feature wins combining his Micro Sprint and dirt oval kart statistics.
