Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle and Race Technology, a Nottingham (UK) based company; developing high technology automotive electronic solutions is the official data acquisition system for the RSWC USAC Focus Midget & NASCAR Modified Teams.

Kamal Amer, lead engineer for all of the RSWC Race Teams, believes the Race Technology data system has taken the team to the next level. Being able to look at the driver’s throttle, brake, and steering inputs along with their line, speed, and car behavior has made a major difference.

“We are able to get a quantitative number in data which has been the missing link,” stated Amer. “Being able to see improvements right away is a big advantage for the team and drivers. Working with Race Technology’s American point man Al Seim has been a major part of our success.”

Kamal is able to take the driver’s feedback and compare it to the data. This allows the team to determine whether or not a different line can be used or whether an adjustment is needed to the car. The team is now able to compare data from driver to driver and from session to session being able to pull data from previous test days. This has shortened the learning curve for the drivers significantly.

“The Race Technology data acquisition system has been our secret weapon to ramp up young drivers quicker,” commented Ron Sutton, head of driver development. “It shows us exactly where they are good and where they need to improve.
